This quest is called mindfulness meditation, but what it’s really about is getting a handle on your mind, so that you can control it, rather than it controlling you; meditation helps you to so. Once you are more in control of your mind, you can unleash your own potential, and be a force for good in the world.
Two exercises follow: The first will help you to appreciate your own potential, and the second will encourage you to meditate, by teaching you a little about the science behind it.
The challenge here is to listen to this story about a boy with two stones. Depending on where he brings the stones, their value changes. However, as the title of the video shows, the story is not really about stones, but about life.
For this challenge, you are encouraged to reflect on your own life, and what you think might be of value. Think of the proverb “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” – no matter how insignificant you think a characteristic of yours is, in a different context it could well be something that changes the world for the better.
